Ok so brace yourselves for baby carrier reviews. Right now I’ll start with this traveler Soul Slings linen wrap. A traveler is a carrier that is sent from one home to another for trying on, reviewing and even breaking-in purposes.

Soul Slings has been releasing their carriers in linen fabric and first of all, I have to say that I love this brand. I owned one of their soft structured carriers or SSC in a toddler size and we loved it here. They’re a family owned business, based in India and they make amazing baby carriers that are affordable. I have been dying to try one of their regular woven wraps for quite some time now, but back to this linen one… It is called Goldfinch and this is a size 6 which retails for $60. According to their website, it measures 187 inches (4.75 meters) long and 29 inches wide. They recommend washing prior to use. But that’s something you should do even if it’s not explicitly recommended.
The carrier consists of a single layer of fabric which means you can appreciate the color only on one side and also that it is lighter in weight. If you need support, say for carrying a toddler and/or a heavy baby, I suggest you choose a double layered one.
I have a toddler who refuses being worn so I tried it with my good ‘ole professional baby wearing doll, Luis. For reference, Luis weighs 13 pounds and he liked it.
We tried it outside and did some basic carries and some fancy finishes with it. My base size is a 5 so if you attempt one of those, I suggest using a base +1.
I did like the texture. To be honest, I was sort of expecting something different. Having owned a linen blend before (from another brand), I was expecting it to be more thick. It is surprisingly soft and still has room for further breaking in. I love the color yellow for baby carriers because I personally think that it is a happy color, however, this particular one wouldn’t have been my first choice. I do love this lime green called Parakeet, and the lovely sky blue, Starling in terms of color.
In conclusion, it is a good wrap and you really can’t beat the price! Remember that if you are the first owner it will need breaking-in to achieve full softness/floppy status.

Ok prepárense para leer varias reseñas de portabebés. Voy a comenzar con este fular viajero Soul Slings de lino. Un viajero es un portabebé que se envía de una casa a otra para probarlo, reseñarlo e incluso para ayudar a domarlo.
Soul Slings ha estado trabajando sus portabebés en tela de lino y lo primero que voy a decir es que me gusta esta marca. Tuve una de sus mochilas tamaño toddler y nos encantaba. Son una empresa familiar, con sede en la India y hacen tremendos portabebés a precios accesibles. He estado loca por probar uno de sus fulares tejidos regulares desde hace tiempo, pero volviendo a este de lino… Se llama Goldfinch, es tamaño 6 y su precio regular es $60. Según la página web, mide 187 pulgadas (4,75 metros) de largo y 29 pulgadas de ancho. Se recomienda lavar antes de usar. Pero eso es algo que se debe hacer aunque no se recomiende explícitamente.
El fular es de una sola capa de tela, lo que significa que se puede apreciar el color en un sólo lado y también que es más liviano en peso. Si necesita support, por ejemplo, para llevar a un toddler y/o a un bebé pesado, le recomiendo elegir uno de doble capa.
Tengo un niño que se niega a ir en fular, así que lo probé con Luis, mi muñeco profesional de porteo. Para referencia, Luis pesa 13 libras y le gustó.
Lo probamos afuera y tratamos algunos nudos básicos y acabados “fancy”. Mi tamaño base es un 5 por lo que sugiero utilizar un tamaño base +1 si trata de hacer uno de estos acabados.
Me gustó la textura. Para ser honesta, estaba esperando algo diferente. Habiendo tenido un fular con mezcla de lino antes (de otra marca), esperaba que fuera más grueso. Es sorprendentemente suave y todavía puede domar más. Me encanta el color amarillo para portabebés porque personalmente pienso que es un color feliz, sin embargo, este en particular no hubiese sido mi primera opción. Me encanta este verde lima llamado Parakeet, y este hermoso azul cielo, Starling en términos de color.
En conclusión, es un buen fular y por el precio, excelente! Recuerde que si lo adquiere nuevo, tendrá que domarlo para lograr que esté más suave y manejable.
