As you all know, one of my goals from my 101 in 1,001 goals list is to answer the 50 questions that will free your mind.
These questions have no right or wrong answers.
Because sometimes asking the right questions is the answer.
- How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? Honestly, sometimes I am so tired that I feel, I don’t know.. 80? But the truth is physically, if I didn’t know I’d say around 25.
- Which is worse, failing or never trying? NEVER TRYING. Hands down.
- If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Now, this is the true question here. I dislike so many things that I do (dishes anyone?) and don’t do nearly enough of the things that I truly enjoy. I’d say it is because we are trapped inside this “something” that leads us to think that we can’t go another way. Example: I can’t quit my job that I don’t like because then I won’t have a steady income, then I won’t be happy. This is just an example btw; I’m not saying that I don’t like my job.
- When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? Probably.
- What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? Violence. I think that this is the root of so many other major worldwide problems like crime, poverty and hunger.
- If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich? Birth work.
- Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing? I am definitely doing what I believe in although still somewhat settling a bit (remember that steady income example?). However, my goal is to dedicate myself fully to my passion. See services.
- If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently? I’d spend all possible time with my son and family.
- To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken? Sometimes I go with the flow, but mostly control my path.
- Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? Doing the right things.
- You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do? I’d respectfully say that I know this person, and that I am personally shocked about what they are saying, but regardless that it is not polite to talk about someone who isn’t there to defend herself.
- If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be? Be happy.
- Would you break the law to save a loved one? YES!
- Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity? Huh? I guess not…
- What’s something you know you do differently than most people? Eat kiwis.
- How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy? We’re all different.
- What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back? Travel. Time & money.
- Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? Yes!
- If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? France, I love their public health system. Although it scares me that I’d have to learn a whole new language. Maybe Spain would be a better option.
- Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster? No, and no.
- Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton? Joyful simpleton.
- Why are you, you? Because I was made me.
- Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend? I have.
- Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you? Losing touch.
- What are you most grateful for? My children.
- Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones? OMG WOW..this is so hard. I don’t think I can answer this.
- Is it possible to know the truth without challenging it first? Yes.
- Has your greatest fear ever come true? Yes.
- Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now? NO.
- What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special? I can’t think of one but I want to say Christmas mornings? I do remember this one Easter that I was on a strict sugar free diet and my parents went super out of the way and found a ton of sugar-free chocolate and vintage rabbits and made a gorgeous basket for me. That was awesome!
- At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive? Giving birth.
- If not now, then when? When the time is right.
- If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose? Maybe time, energy, and money that I don’t have, but it might still be worth a try.
- Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
- Why do religions that support love cause so many wars? No idea.
- Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil? No.
- If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job? YAS!
- Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing? More work that I enjoy doing.
- Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before? Yes 😥
- When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in? Recently, quite a few times.
- If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today? Oh my… my parents.
- Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous? No.
- What is the difference between being alive and truly living? You can be alive and not living. For example and I’m not going to mention people who are on life support; but you can just get up, go to work at a place you hate, come back home to people you hate, eat food you hate, go to bed, repeat.. This is not living, this is just being alive.
- When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right? I’d love to know. I can’t stop thinking about risks when it comes to taking big life decisions.
- If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake? I think that most people are afraid to make a mistake because of all the judgement and unsolicited advice we receive after the fact.
- What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you? I don’t really think much of this. Most of the things I do, I do without worrying of receiving judgement from people.
- When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing? I’m fatigued most of the time, so earlier today.
- What do you love? Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love? I love helping families, moms and babies, so, yes!
- In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday? What about the day before that? Or the day before that? No.
- Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you? I am making them for myself but maybe I’m still holding on to some scary thoughts of risks and consequences.
Have you ever seen this list before? If so, have you answered it? I’d love to hear what you think about mine! Some of these were really hard to answer, specially #26.
